With the game coming out in just under a month’s time, it should have been no surprise to anyone that The Legend of Zelda A Link Between Worlds got some fairly decent coverage in today’s Nintendo Direct (especially given how it’s the only big 3DS release between now and the end of the year in Europe). So read on to see the trailers and videos Nintendo released of it during this event, as well as my trailer ‘analysis’ and comments!

Well, I called it. Just a few days or so ago, I was actually wondering when the next Nintendo Direct would be coming. And now it turns out that it’s happening tomorrow, on November 13th 2013! Of course, there’s no real information about what it’ll cover other than ‘previously announced 3DS software launching from now until early 2014′, so I guess it could be focused on all manner of different games. What do I predict? What games do I expect will be covered? Find out in the full post after the break!
Excited for the Legend of Zelda A Link Between Worlds? Well not only did Nintendo show more of the game at Nintendo Direct a few days ago (the video of which can be seen below), but they also released a bunch new fantastic screenshots and concept art pieces showing the game! Here’s the video:
At today’s Nintendo Direct, Nintendo have announced a new Kirby game for the 3DS, which will be released some time in 2014. Unnamed in Western regions (but given a Nintendo I can’t translate in Japan), the game appears to be a traditional 2D Kirby platformer with a similar art style to Kirby’s Return to Dream Land, albeit by some more 3D elements like warp stars that take you between layers of foreground.
And if you thought Super Mario 3D World was good before (or for some reason you weren’t even remotely excited for it), you’re gonna absolutely love what Nintendo is showing in this trailer. Put simply, it makes the game look Mario Galaxy caliber and proves without a doubt that’s not just ‘New Super Mario Bros in 3D’. Here’s the video:
As you most likely now know, Nintendo has announced a new Nintendo Direct for tomorrow (the 1st of October 2013). It’ll be covering new Wii U and 3DS games and will presumably focus on those that are being released before the end of the year. So as per the norm, here are my predictions for what we’ll see. Don’t take them as utter gospel (because I have no insider sources or prior knowledge) and don’t be surprised if some turn out to be incorrect, but enjoy them regardless.
If you’ve been a regular on Nintendo’s websites and social network profiles for the last few days, you’ll have noticed that Nintendo of Europe has been a bit slower on the Nintendo Direct mentions recently. Really, they didn’t mention today’s Nintendo Direct for many hours after NOA’s announcement today. Thankfully though, that’s now changed and Nintendo of Europe has formally announced it on their Twitter page. Here’s the tweet about it:
It shouldn’t really be much of a surprise for absolutely anyone (since a new general Nintendo Direct has been kind of overdue for weeks now), but Nintendo have now officially announced that one covering the upcoming 3DS and Wii U games will be held tomorrow (October 1st) at 10AM ET/4PM CET/3PM GMT.
In recent weeks, we’ve had quite a few… game specific ones (Wonderful 101, Pokemon X and Y, Monster Hunter 4), but it seems we’ve had no general ones since August or so. And given the pattern on the Nintendo Direct page, I suspect we should be about to see one any minute now.
