It’s not often you hear this, but we’ve actually got a games console with an Australian release date announced before the US or European one! The New Nintendo 3DS (a more powerful 3DS model with extra RAM and a second analogue stick) is being released in Australia on the 21st of November 2013, just in time to coincide with the holiday season.
This was announced in a surprise Australian Nintendo Direct, which can be viewed below:
Either way, that’s probably good news for everyone in the US and Europe. After all, if the console is coming out in Australia this soon, then it makes perfect sense that it’ll also be coming out at around the same time in other regions.
But what do you think? Surprised at the early release date? Going to buy one on that date?
Okay, it was actually held yesterday. But either way… did anyone actually even expect a Nintendo Direct for this title? Because I know I didn’t. Heck, I didn’t expect a Nintendo Direct video for just about anything in particular this soon after E3. It just seems like the whole thing came completely out of nowhere.
Either way, here’s the video:
So yeah, thoughts on it? I’m not really interested in it myself, but perhaps other people here might be.
Want to hear about all the latest things announced at today’s Nintendo Direct the second they happen? Want to know my thoughts on the game, its design and what’s planned from it? Just plain excited? Then if so, head inside to see the Nintendo Direct videos as they happen and read a detailed run down of everything announced for the new Smash Bros title!
No, this is not a joke! As unbelievable and awesome as it sounds, Nintendo have indeed just announced a special Nintendo Direct about the upcoming Super Smash Bros game for Wii U and 3DS, and it will be held on the 8th of April, aka next Tuesday. Here’s what Nintendo say about it:
Super Smash Bros. Direct is coming soon! Join us for this broadcast for new details on the Super Smash Bros. games coming to Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.
So what do I want to see? What do I think will actually be shown next week? Head inside to read on and find out for yourself!
Just a few minutes ago, Steel Diver Sub Wars was shown off at Nintendo Direct. But while the likes of its ‘contemporaries’ (aka Super Smash Bros 4, Mario Kart 8 and Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze) looked absolutely amazing and even the most minor other titles were at least interesting for their fanbase, part of me wondered a simple question.
Who the hell actually wanted a sequel to Steel Diver?
Well, it’s that time again! So watch the videos below to see tonight’s Nintendo Directs in action, or follow the action on our live blog (assuming it ends before about 11:30 PM). Click past the break for more…
Yeah, you probably expected it, didn’t you? After all, a new Donkey Kong Country game days away from being released? Smash Bros needing more information given out? Kirby, Yoshi’s New Island and other such games in general? A Nintendo Direct was long overdue, and this one is focused on 3DS and Wii U games.
Still, it’s confirmed for 10pm GMT, which means there’s a good chance I won’t be able to cover the event a whole lot due to things like work and other such priorities. Yeah, great timing there Nintendo. You had just two days til the weekend (and one day more til Friday), and you chose a day on which most people will be stuck at either work, school or college. Just great.
Well, they technically did this at about 2pm yesterday, but I had enough to write about with all the 3DS games and Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze, hence why I’m posting the official news post now. Either way, it’s a rather interesting new Legend of Zelda spinoff which mixes the world of said franchise with the gameplay of the Dynasty Warriors series, so keep reading to find out more!
Another game which was shown at today’s Nintendo Direct, Yoshi’s New Island got a surprising amount of content even with the lesser hype that came with it. With a new trailer, artwork and the announcement that one of the original designers of Yoshi’s Island SNES was involved, the game went from being a bit of a disappointment to one that could actually be pretty good!
